Comedogenic Rating
Comedogenic Rating (co-me-doe-genic) is a system developed by doctors and scientists to rate common skin care products based on their potential to clog the pores of the face.
This system stands only as a guide based on the likelihood that various base products (such as those used by Sincere Essentials) may or may not clog facial pores and potentially lead to breakouts. This information is generally only pertinent to the face as this skin is more sensitive and prone to clogged pores. This guide can be useful in determining which products to AVOID and which may be best suited for one's particular skin type. This is also ideal for customizing products based on personal knowledge of ones own skin. This information is often seen as an "aha moment" for many who are uncertain that putting oils on the face does not actually lead to breakouts, rather clearer, healthier skin.

0 - Will Not Clog Pores
1 - Low
2 - Moderately Low
3 - Moderate
4 - Fairly High
5 - High probability it will clog pores
A lower comedogenic rating mean the product is less likely to clog the pores; for example, ratings between 0 and 2 are mostly non-comedogenic while 3 to 5 are considered highly comedogenic. That being said, everyone experiences these products differently, while some with sensitive skin maybe more sensitive to a product rated as "2 " others having similar sensitivity may have no issues what-so-ever using a products rated as "5"; often, it is a matter of trial and error. Keep in mind that eliminating most of the chemicals and additives contained in commercial products can also change the state of your skin entirely.
